Pheromones And Sexual Attraction

Humans are highly skilled at sniffing our suitable sexual partners, research has found. Evidence has revealed that natural body scents play a pivotal role in deciding whether we find someone attractive.

The research was published by the Philadelphia's Monell Chemical Senses Center in the journal Psychological Science.

By using brain scans, researches were able to show that pheromones in male sweat stimulated the brains of heterosexual women.

How pheromones and sexual attraction are related.

Natural scents, or pheromones, often do not register on a conscious level - but they have a big impact on behavior. In the study, Swedish researchers looked at how the brain responded to two compounds suggested as potential pheromones - the testosterone derivative adrosterone, and androstenol. 36 heterosexual men were asked to smells samples of androstenone and androstenol.

The results of the study revealed that androstenol activated a region of the brain called the hypothalamus that influences sexual arousal.

Pheromones Known To Cause Sexual Arousal

Much of the buzz about pheromones can be attributed to three active compounds found in high-quality pheromone products:

Androstenone. -- This pheromone is naturally occurring in humans and is associated with the perception of male dominance Women often perceive men wearing androstenone as more powerful and masculine. The benefit is increased attention from the opposite sex, There is also some evidence that it may cause sexual arousal and excitement in women. To cause members of the opposite sex to become slightly intimidated by you can be attractive, so this pheromone helps in this regard too.

Androsterone -- Androsterone is a human pheromone that produces a sense of trust around it's wearer. This pheromone creates an aura of safety, protection, reliability and leadership normally associated with a more peaceful alpha male.

Androstenol -- There are two types of Androstenol. the alpha and beta isomers, which each giving a slightly different effect. The alpha and beta have the opposite effect to Androstenone, as they trigger chattiness and friendliness. It can also increase sexual attractiveness as well and it is commonly referred to as an "icebreaker" pheromone. The alpha isomer produces a friendly atmosphere, which makes the user more approachable for women. It seems to be more of a neurotic chatty pheromone than the beta isomer, touching more on empathy and romantic feelings. Androstenol also creates an aura of youth and health, which can help to create an impression of reproductive fitness, which is attractive. Not much is known about the beta isomer because of it's limited availability, It seems as though it's primary effect is to enhance the alpha Androstenol, helping to create a vibe of friendliness and comfort.

These are the main pheromones that can attract women. Understanding what these pheromones can do will help you select a pheromone that will give you what you want.
